That's what roommates are for (and apartment alliance members too)

I found that if you live together in a house with some people, sooner or later you will see the different facets of those people's characters.

In my apartment's case, it is my roommates who found out so many insecurities in my personality. Ching Hui knows what actually lies behind my smile, my independent-tough-go-to-hell attitude, and my anger management face. She said to me once that I have some kind of two personalities in me. Gee, I feel like I'm having a split personality or something. That also goes to the members of my apartment alliance, especially Cipto and Raymond. They know the facet of my personality that not many of my friends know. Just this week, one of them experienced the other side of Neny, and that created a not-really-pleasant incident (I am thankfully relieved that it is over now, and I wish it had never happened. I'm so sorry and I feel terrible! You're such an Angel!)

And I feel totally comfortable with that. There are only few people with whom I comfortably share this side of me, and they are definitely those. With that, I thank them all, wholeheartedly. I just hope that I can be similarly understanding to their personality, as they always try to understand me.

Ames version of "Friends"

On the retrospect of the apartment alliance that we have, I'm feeling like we have another version of the TV series "Friends" here in Ames. Three guys, three girls, a series of events. Geeee....

Now, of course, I want to be Rachel! Me: beautiful, romantic, huahahhaahha...but I guess, I can be Phoebe too because of the silliness part, plus the I-dont-care attitude. So I nominate Lavin to be Rachel. Now, in Ching Hui's case, it's a little bit difficult. I can imagine her being Monica, with all the hassle of decorating the room and being specific about where her stuffs are.

In the case of guys...hmmm...Who's going to be the smoky-eyes sensitive Ross? I guess I will pick Raymond due to our regular night conversation about all those silly craps of emotional vent. And Chandler...no one but Donny will be perfect for the position. And Joey! Aha, the silliness, the up and down emotion, the jolly nature, Cipto is the man!

So, how's that, people? Are we in for another episode of Ames Friends?

On this secret plan of Ching Hui, I must protest as her devoted loving roommate because I have no clue of what she's planning!!!!!!! The member of Apartment 1, Raymond, also denied to give me further information on this matter.

But, one thing for sure, I'm escaping! So if you guys have something in mind...forget it, you're not going to get it!

I am glad that I made the RiGhT decision moving into this apt.
Although one of the residents likes to do those crazy things........such as turning our apt into NIGHT CLUB, still I EnJoY it quite a lot.

Donny's birthday Celebration

Our apartment alliance hosted Donny's birthday celebration...

We're sort of like cooking this idea of surprise party since two weeks ago. The plan was that we're going to celebrate it at midnight and throw some rotten eggs on him *which all are the tradition of undegrad birthday celebration in Indonesia*.

So, we invited some people in addition to our alliance members (Zul, Jovin, Hanvin, Irene, Wing, Ashu, Elves, Martin) and sort of created a diversion technique so that he wouldn't find out our presence in his apartment. 1's family plus Zul went to Cinemark to watch a movie when we arrived. 11's family prepared the cake, the pops, the chips, and other things necessary to make this birthday wonderful.



A little glitch in the surprise: Jovin parked his car in Donny's parking space. Of course, this must have triggered Donny's curious mind. Probably that is the reason of his not-so-surprised expression when he opened the door and we all shouted "surprise!".



But, he did like his gifts (PS Game and a bottle of 45% cinnamon wine, the last one is Cipto's and my idea),



he blew the candle, was forced to give a speech (Olive *Donny's girlfriend*, if you read this, we made him say something to you in the video! Email me if you want it!), and drank up his wine (and his face was red all over of being intoxicated!)

We had a great time.

Aftermath, guests went home stuffed, 1's family gossiped in Raymond's room, 11's family + Zul played the PS game. What an excellent aftermath!

Crazy Nights

So, we have this apartment alliance with another apartment. Ours is apartment 11 and theirs is apartment 1. Different building, different block, but our alliance is stronger than family ties. So, we have 11's family (me, Lavin and Ching Hui) and 1's family (Cipto, Donny and Raymond)

So, one weekend night in this September, we all got bored and we decided to go to their apartment. And thus, the crazy night is created. We called it crazy because Ching Hui with her papparazzi tendency took our pictures in crazy poses! Take a look!

The idea

Today, in the Apartment...

So Ching Hui and I were at the middle of Dan Douglas' class and out of boredom we started to have this idea of writing our daily life in the Apartment. I guess it will be pretty fun, don't you think?

So here it is, the Apartment.

We live together starting Summer 2004 and we find that we're a fun gang of girls!
